HISTORY OF THE DOG
The Cane Corso is an Italian Mastiff that is loyal, feirce, protective, intelligent and brave. They should be athletic and also versatile as they were used for many different purposes. They are a strong large breed dog with their mind as strong as their bodies. The history of the Cane Corso is long and can be a bit confusing. The Cane Corso breed began way before they even set a paw in the Americas. It is historically an Italian breed yet as it was brought to the states during its reconstruction period due to them almost reaching extinction, yet even with our current standard there are many different corsi who have different looks, qualities and sometimes even temperaments. This is why breeding is important as responsible breeders are still working towards a more consistent and correct dog.
